Filled only with passion, he made the extreme choice to become a winemaker. He left his native northern region and purchased Château Le Bourdillot in the southern region of Virelade. This estate, formerly owned by the Earl of Lych, can be found on a map from 1818. This is where the history of Haverlan Vineyards began. Jules' son, Paul, added his passion for viticulture and the rich experience learned from his father. Louis, one of Paul's six children, inherited it later. An active and passionate Louis expanded the farm and was the first to start bottling wine in the Portets region. In 1956, he married Thérèse Laconfourque, the daughter of a farmer from the nearby village of DOMAINE DES LUCQUES. Later, they inherited Château Le Bourdillot and Domaine des Lucques, where Haverlan grew up. In 1986, 80 years after his grandfather Jules started it, Patrice took over the Haverlan Vineyards. Since then, he has continuously strived for the development of the vineyard.
